After decades of debate, the Presbyterian Church (U.S.A.) on Tuesday struck down a barrier to ordaining gays, ratifying a proposal that removes the celibacy requirement for unmarried clergy, in the latest mainline Protestant move toward accepting gay relationships.
The measure approved Tuesday eliminates language in the church constitution requiring that clergy live “in fidelity within the covenant of marriage between a man and a woman, or chastity in singleness.” The new provision instead requires ministers to “submit joyfully to the Lordship of Jesus Christ in all aspects of life.” Each regional body will decide who it should ordain, and some districts are expected to continue to reject gay and lesbian candidates.
The new policy would take effect on July 10, after all presbyteries complete their voting.
KAMPALA, Uganda — Uganda’s parliament appeared Wednesday to have dropped plans to debate a controversial anti-gay bill after a global outcry from U.S. leaders, rights groups and an Internet campaign.
The anti-gay bill was first proposed in 2009 but wasn’t debated until last Friday. The bill had been scheduled to be debated before the full parliament on Wednesday but was dropped from the schedule.
The future of the bill remained murky. Wednesday was parliament’s last scheduled day of session, and President Yoweri Museveni was scheduled on Thursday to be sworn in after his February re-election. It wasn’t clear if the bill could be carried forward to the next session or if the bill’s author would have to offer a new bill, which he has said he will do if needed.
Same Sex Marriage - The Big Lie
I love that quote by Goebbels
Unfortunately, even Americans accept the concept of “the opposite sex,” which is a terrible misnomer (I think “the other sex” works just fine). Too many people relate to each other as “men” or “women” rather than as George or Maria. When George doesn’t ask for directions when lost it isn’t because he’s a man, it’s because he’s a proud jerk. When Maria gossips too much it isn’t because she’s a woman, it’s because she has low-self esteem, or feels unable to express hostility.
If men and women thought of their sexual partners as persons more than as male or female, there’d be less questions about what men or women want in bed, and more questions about what Jose or Jing want. And that would lead to better sex for everyone.
”okay. i’ll buy your products.amazingly progressive ad from Phillips… will probably never show in the US.
The tagline at the end is funny, but mainly this video is just magical and I wanted to share.
I wrap my chest so tightly
Can’t let anything show
Lower my head so slightly
Can’t let anyone know
Can’t let anything show
How could you think it a phase?
Lower my head so slightly
Feeling stuck in a maze
How could you think it a phase?
I feel so alone
Feeling stuck in a maze
This body is not my own
I feel so alone
I wrap my chest so tightly
This body is not my own
Lower my head so slightly

Me: Noooo, it’s not that bad.. ugh
Mom: What?! tell me
Me: …I’m gay.
Mom: So what? Girls are better anyway.I LOVE MY MOM.
I wish my mom was like that….
