    Katherine Franke: King and Spalding Muzzles All Employees From Advocating Repeal of DOMA

    Apparently this is because the House GOP put a muzzle clause in their contract with King & Spaulding.  What happened to Congress following the First Amendment and its directive “Congress shall make no law … abridging the freedom … of the people … to petition the Government for a redress of grievances.”  Of course a contract is not law, but this seems like a slippery slope to go down

    Not only do I find it unconscionable that any part of Congress is spending tax dollars to defend DOMA, but it is horrifying that the House is actively curtaining the free speech of private citizen employees at King & Spaulding who are not associated with the litigation. 

    This is some dirty politics people!
