    civillyunioned: Provincetown, MA has lost one of it’s most beloved street performers. Ellie Castillo passed away on Thursday, April 7, 2011. Ellie’s life story is a fascinating one.  She was a former minister who came out as trans in his 60s; eventually becoming a street performer in P-Town.  Every summer we would see Ellie singing and pulling her famous sign about how she was finally living her dreams. The photo above is from our vacation last summer. For the last 10 years Ellie has been a fixture of our summer trip.  She always made us smile and had a kind word when we stopped to listen to her sing.  This summer in P-Town will not be the same without her.
